Our Story
Founded in 1956, Mugs Up has become a local icon for authentic drive-in dining in Independence, Missouri. Visitors experience a unique atmosphere that transports them back to the golden age of 1950s American Drive-Ins, with a focus on food quality, nostalgia, and community. We invite you to try our ice cold home made root beer, served in a frosty glass mug. Our unique Zip burger and Whiz burger sandwiches are perfectly complemented with our crispy onion rings. Your meal will be delivered by a friendly carhop, on a tray that rests on your car window, just like the good ol' days.
